Antoinette Burrell
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

My name is Antoinette Burrell and I'm a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) based in Whitby, Ontario, and the Clinical Director of GardenView Therapy. I specialize in supporting people of colour who are navigating burnout, anxiety, depression, and self-doubt.

Pushing back intense emotions while trying to function every day can seem like you're drowning. As a Jamaican-born woman of colour raised in Canada, I know what it feels like to not fit in, to be misunderstood, and to sense cultural misalignment at work and in social settings. I've experienced the quiet struggle of pressing on while life was draining my energy.

I get you, and I’ve got you!

Psychotherapy can be a transformative and refreshing experience! I work in a collaborative, honest, and down-to-earth way. Sessions can bring clarity and comfort and a fresh perspective on your lived experiences. It's a time for you to share feelings and goals and make plans for brighter days ahead.

I draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and Culturally-Sensitive approaches. I also offer faith-based counselling through a Christian lens.

No single framework fits every person. We'll tailor a unique approach that is made just for you.

Working With Me

Subaita Ahmed
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Are you trying to make sense of who you are, where you belong, or how to move forward? I offer a warm, culturally sensitive space to explore these questions with curiosity and care.

Drawing from my background in social services and healthcare, I help clients understand how cultural, relational, and systemic factors shape their experiences and support them in building greater self-awareness, balance, and fulfillment. In our work together, I take a client-centred, trauma-informed, and collaborative approach. I draw from approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based practices, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), tailoring each session to your individual needs and goals.

If you’re feeling weighed down by family expectations, adjusting to change, or searching for direction, you’re not alone. In therapy, we’ll work together to uncover meaningful insights, build on your strengths, and develop tools to help you move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and self-compassion.
